Hey People whats going on? Well, today is Valentine's Day, but I wouldnt call it anything but lovely. Or Would I? Of course the snow, sleet, and ice would surely be enough to cancel classes but nooooo, i had to drive for a near hour through unplowed roads, school crossings, broken down cars and snow drifts, and only half of this occured in the first 10 Minutes! I Felt like I was in a Televised Pinball machine, the difference being tilt=death!
...On the other hand, the thought of a snow day took me back to much earlier times(namely because I seldom had one in high school, just late openings). Its been a long wait to see this type of weather, seeing how i turned 19 last month in summer. Sure, I was happy for that particular day, but was woondering all month long, where's the snow?. i remember when the first sign of snowfall called for an all out closing, regardless of the amount expected! I'd wake up in the morning and see the reddish-grey sky just before seeing the erased grounds. you didnt need the tree phone call to know what was coming next! forget going back to sleep, it's an extra saturday morning! then going hustling (at least that's how our parents saw making around $50 per person) for money by shoveling driveways. And afterwards we would sit back relax, with some hot chocolate, and get ready for a snowball fight...
I truly am going to miss those days, but at least this Valentines day allowed me to look back on things. So, eventually im hoping for just one more snow day (yeah, i know the circumstances are different, you never know), even though some of these events may not occur in the event of, but it would still be close enough to relive the experience.
One last "thing", guys, if you get someone a cheap gift and expect to play it off, dont, because Tom Dickson invented a foolproof way to spot fakes:
...Happy Valentine's Day!
